BEH215 Motivational Interviewing

This course provides students the opportunity to explore the evolution of motivational interviewing and different motivational interviewing techniques. Emphasis will be placed on aligning techniques with specific psychological disorders and the integration of motivational interviewing skills with treatment planning. Students will also compare/contrast motivational interviewing with therapeutic communication with the understanding that both will be used in their practice. Prerequisites: BEH200 - Introduction to Behavior Health. Additional Prerequisites / Conditions: Must earn a C to pass this course.
