ABA courses at CMU meet the required Behavior-Analytic Coursework and align with the fifth edition Task List content areas required to become a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA). The minor does not include the field experiences required for certification
There are three requirements for a student to be able to take the certifying exam and become a BCaBA. First, they need to complete the Behavior-Analytic Coursework which can be completed at Central Methodist University. Second, they must independently arrange for and complete supervised fieldwork. Finally, a Bachelor's degree must be posted on their final transcript. CMU is a qualifying institution for the Bachelor's degree. After achieving these three components, the students can sit for an exam to become certified as a BCaBA.
