The technological world of today is one of evolving and constant change. You can turn your house lights on before arriving home, deposit a check into your bank from the couch, or order food to be delivered to your family on the other side of the country, all from a handheld device.
At the same time…someone must develop and monitor the infrastructure of these technologies and lead the innovative teams delivering these new technologies to the world.
The Master in IT Management program combines practical technical abilities with executive management frameworks, emphasizing communication and thought leadership skills. From predictive analytics to identifying cyber threats to using artificial intelligence, this program will provide a foundation for growing career opportunities in any industry.
Your IT Management journey will include a minimum of 35 credit hours of coursework in management theory, IT strategy and innovation, project management, information security, legal and ethical governance, and emerging trends in business intelligence. Upon graduation, you will be prepared to:
- Organize, manipulate, and analyze data using the latest software programs and technology
- Extract viable intelligence using various applications for business data
- Make effective decisions related to and using current and emerging trends in information technology
- Strategically plan and budget for an IT organization
- Identify cyber threats and make data-driven policy changes in relation to said threats
- Solve problems within the IT organization using an understanding of organizational behavior and governance
- Identify, procure, and develop talent within new employees in the IT workplace
- Demonstrate high level communication skills in a global marketplace
- Analyze and respond to legal and ethical issues within the IT field
Candidates for the MSITM must satisfactorily complete the 35 hours of coursework described below and achieve a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher. All students must earn no less than a C in any MSITM course or that course will have to be repeated at the student’s cost until the student earns a C or better.

Graduation and Participation Requirements
Students will be required to complete a minimum of 35 credit hours of coursework.
Students will have to complete all of the courses noted above, including the Applied Learning Experience course that is required each semester. The applied learning experience component of the program is designed to facilitate the application of knowledge and skills gained in the classroom. Students must pass all courses with no more than two courses below a B grade.

ITM505: This course must be taken each semester of enrollment. It must be taken a minimum of 5 times.
Students may take a maximum of 7 credit hours per semester. Most students take two 3 hours courses, and ITM505, each semester.
With the exception of ITM505, courses are taken in numerical order.
Admission Criteria
Admissions Requirements
Admission to Central Methodist University's College of Graduate and Extended Studies ('CGES') is a competitive process. CGES Admissions reviews each MSITM program application file after all following materials have been received:
- Application
- Official transcripts confirming an earned bachelor’s degree. All transcripts must be received directly from the issuing college or university.
- A cumulative grade point average on all undergraduate transcripts, (GPA) of a 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.
- Two (2) letters of recommendation from professional peers and/or supervisors.
- Any international coursework completed must have official transcript evaluations completed and submitted to the University by an approved evaluation firm. Evaluations MUST include GPA details.
- Documentation of language fluency for non-native speakers of English, such as a score report from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the 8 International English Language Testing System (IELTS). This requirement is waived for students who have completed coursework at an accredited institution in the U.S. The minimum acceptable TOEFL or IELTS scores for admission are:
- Paper-based TOEFL (PBT) - 550
- Computer Based TOEFL (CBT) - 213
- Internet-based TOEFL (IBT) - 77
- IELTS – 5.5
No curricular changes are included in this CCP. A future proposal will address learning outcomes.
