PE555 Strength & Conditioning Principles

This course provides a comprehensive examination of the scientific and administrative principles underlying effective strength and conditioning programs in secondary and collegiate settings. Designed for coaches and athletic administrators, the curriculum bridges the gap between exercise science theory and practical application. Students will analyze models to design age-appropriate, evidence-based lifting schedules and conditioning programs for high school and college athletes. Beyond training methodology, the course emphasizes essential administrative competencies, including weight room management, risk assessment, equipment maintenance, and safety protocols. Students will develop the skills necessary to oversee safe, efficient, and performance-driven strength and conditioning facilities.
