Bachelor of Music in Performance (Piano or Organ)

The curriculum for the Bachelor of Music in Performance is designed to prepare students for further solo study, for studio teaching, and for admission to graduate studies. The graduate will be a performer capable of communicating with intelligence and imagination through many musical styles. Those selecting this degree should plan to continue their studies at the graduate level.

General Education Requirements: 37-39 Hours

Courses required for the major may simultaneously fulfill requirements of the general education program. Credit hours may not be double counted.

Additional Degree Requirements: 6 Hours

Music Major: 72-88 Hours

Music Academic Core Requirements (29 Hours)

MU423 and MU465: Capstone.

Applied Piano or Organ (24 Hours)

MU010: Corequisite of Applied Lessons.

MU492: Capstone.

Secondary Applied (8 Hours)

ML_100/300 (Applied Lessons): Secondary area.

Pedagogy (11 Hours)

Ensembles (0-16 Hours)

Must enroll and successfully participate in a major ensemble and MU071 Accompanying each semester of full-time attendance

Foreign Language (6-8 Hours)

Electives to Complete Minimum of 120 Hours
