OTA409 OT Principles and Practice I Settings and Emerging Practice

This course allows the student to integrate concepts from foundational courses(OTA300, 301, 302, 103) and explore how interventional strategies may vary indifferent settings. Concepts discussed will include therapeutic use of self, coordination with supervising OTR and healthcare team, clinical judgment, evidence based practice, educating the client and caregiver, use of community resources, appropriate documentation of techniques and current healthcare environments within which the student will practice as an OTA. Prerequisites: OTA306 - OT Fundamentals in Development and Functional Intervention III Behavioral Health, and OTA307 - OT Fundamentals and Practice IV - Physical Dysfunction and Rehab, and OTA308 - Baccalaureate Project 1
