OTA413 Professional Preparation: Licensure and Certification
Students will demonstrate understanding of the requirements for licensure, certification, and registration within state laws. The primary goal of the occupational therapy educational and certification process is to prepare an individual to begin generalist practice as an occupational therapy assistant. This course prepares students for licensure and certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant. Students will evaluate the requirements for licensure, certification, and registration within state laws. The NBCOT COTA exam is a 200-item exam comprised of four and three option single response multiple choice items, and six option multi-select items. Students will analyze NBCOT COTA exam content areas and create a personalized study plan. Upon completion of this course students will demonstrate the ability to synthesize in-depth knowledge through the completion of two NBCOT practice exams. (Online/Self Study).
