AC370 Information Systems
This course provides a survey of information systems in business with an emphasis on accounting information systems and their role in supporting organizational decision-making. Students examine how data is collected, processed, structured, and communicated within business environments, as well as how information systems support planning, control, and operational efficiency. The course also introduces the systems development process and the roles of stakeholders in system implementation and use. Students gain hands-on experience with application software, including spreadsheets and databases, to model business problems and apply information systems concepts in a small business context. Cross-listed with MG370. Prerequisites: AC201 - Principles of Accounting, AC202 - Principles of Accounting II. Additional Prerequisites / Conditions: BU225, junior standing, or instructor's permission.
