Bachelor of Science in Health and Wellness

The Health and Wellness major is designed to prepare students to actively participate in changing the health and wellness environments for individuals and their communities. Students are prepared for careers in public and community health, wellness, or fitness disciplines.

Program Outcomes
1. Students will demonstrate knowledge of health and wellness concepts including terminology, mental health, disease prevention approaches, and other developmentally appropriate interventions.
2. Students will demonstrate meaningful and inclusive communication methods and technologies to support, manage, and promote wellness initiatives.
3. Students will develop/create the appropriate intervention strategies to maximize, maintain, and promote healthy lifestyles for individuals, families, and their community using evidence-based information.
4. Students will recognize business and leadership concepts used in effectively promoting, budgeting, and managing health and wellness programs and facilities.
5. Students will demonstrate effective communication skills in adopting person-centered approach to educate individuals and the public about wellness.
